We are proud to announce our upcoming film festival, September 29—October 9! The 10-day event will be hosted by Andreas Konstantinou, one of Greece’s biggest film stars. We’re still putting plans in place and will be announcing our exciting film lineup shortly. And we’re delighted to bring Greek films to additional theaters in the tri-state area, beyond Manhattan and Astoria. Details to come!
We’re pleased to, once again, host filmmakers from Greece, who will attend their screenings, discuss the creative process, and take questions from the audience, a tradition we put on hold during the pandemic. And we’re working on a few more surprises to make this year’s festival our most entertaining yet!
In order to keep ticket prices down and to make outstanding Greek films accessible to as wide an audience as possible, we rely on the support of individuals, corporations, and foundations to help offset the many costs of presenting the New York Greek Film Expo. We welcome donations of any size and also have sponsorship packages available. Or you can show your support by placing an ad in our souvenir program, given to the audience at every screening. We also send a digital version to our 5,000+ email subscribers. The booklet is a high-visibility opportunity for corporations to place an ad or for individuals to offer a greeting, all while supporting the work of the Hellenic Film Society. Last year’s program is here.
At a time when many cultural institutions curtailed their offerings during the pandemic, the Hellenic Film Society expanded ours, offering Greek films on demand around the world and launching our YouTube channel featuring free films and conversations with prominent Greek filmmakers.
The outpouring of support from our audiences has been gratifying, which motivates us to do even more, but we need your help to widen our efforts and to bring Greek films to audiences of all nationalities.
